No. She wanted a Kindle anyway as it's light for her arthritic hands to hold. Still thinking about iPad.

Thanks everyone - that worked a treat. Apologies for being so late replying. I probably will buy an Airport Express - it looks as though I would find it very useful.

Let me have Joe's telephone number. I'll give him a piece of my mind - although I can ill afford it. Nancy, "knowing" you, you're going to straighten out Joe and everything concerning this transaction.

Even before any of that, I would use Migration Assistant (Applications/Utilities) to make sure everything from your old Mac is copied across onto your iMac. You should have had the option to do this when you first ran your iMac. This copies all your programs, settings, preferences, music and...

Thanks Nancy. Sorry for the slow response - hope you had a good Christmas too :) This could be interesting..... My iTunes library, all 50GB of it, is on the G5 (10.4.11) and I sync the iPod Touches manually. Both run 4.1 - my wife has one too. I just let the MBP "load" the library...

Most of the ones on ebay aren't "real" leather, just leatherette!! (i.e. man made) True, but I still can't find a case where the flap lifts up rather than down. I don't like the ones where the flap drops down because it gets in the way of your face when you answer a call. I do have a faux...

Thanks for the replies. All sorted, I was just being unreasonably jittery and just a little paranoid that I might do something to 'break' the phone. The phone has been buffed to within an inch of its life and boxed up ready for posting tomorrow. :D

Switching the i phone 4 off and on again is supposed to free up some of the memory available to the phone. I use mine as a alarm clock but try and switch it on and off every now and then.

Thanks Tony. I did find a few things when I googled, but like the above program, they require a fair amount of fussing with settings to get printing working. Although he uses a computer Dr G refers to himself as a luddite. He carries a very simple cell phone and a beeper. He is a bit different for...

I havn't done anything – promise! ... not true then  There's a good lesson here though, don't say you haven't done anything, instead tell us everything you've changed recently even if it doesn't seem relevant as you never know what little thing, however unlikely it may seem, might cause...

If you have a me.com account you don't need to set up a free account for your 3GS. I've never used me.com, so I just used my iTunes account as per the instructions. I've now installed the Find my iPad app and it works fine. Logged into me.com, using my iTunes ID and added my 3GS as a device and it...
