Reading the current concerns regarding the chip flaws and Spectre is there any point in downloading High Sierra, or leave it as it is with 10.12.6 or go down the pub and wait till it all blows over.

I UNDERSTAND THE HS FIX IS ONLY PARTIL & TEMPORARY, ALSO READ that Intel may have a CPU fixfor CPUs introduced in the last 5 years... but of course Apple may require HS to install Intel's fix...

I say the bar/pub is the best bet.
