Researchers have found a similar hidden file on Android OS only it does not collect the data over such a large timescale.

Simple thing to do is put a 4 digit passcode on your i phone if your data is top secret.
I would be more concerned with the hassle of losing an expensive phone than someone finding my location data. In fact if my phone was nicked I would also be concerned with some low life having access to my Address book
