Excitable Boy - Warren Zevon. As an aside, in the Music app, I see albums now sport the tags below. OK, some just are just "Lossless", as is the album above. It still sounds great via HomePods, but whether my old ears could tell the difference would not speculate.

Sgt. Pepper's album. Now in spatial audio, it seems.
I only warmed to The Beatles a couple of albums before this one. I was a Stones and Kinks man before that.

The Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse.
You have to like the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Tonight it is the album "How Sweet to Be an Idiot" by Neil Innes.
Besides the Bonzos and The Rutles, I did rather like "The Innes Book of Records". BBC2 iirc. I could well be wrong, but it was in the days of few TV channels.

A real oldie on Apple Music. A compilation of The Shadows. I would not normally admit this but in the quiet bits between tracks I can hear the sound of the stylus hitting minute dust particles. Vinyl always had a slight snap crackle and pop going on in the background but this is digital. When I was a kid... etc.
Do instrumentals ever get in the 'hit parade' these days? I've not followed the 'charts' since the early 70s. Alan "Fluff" Freeman on Sunday evenings, jumpers for goalposts <old man ramble terminated>.

The 2021 album Stomping Ground by Dion (with many guests). Blues rock stuff.
We oldies will remember him from his Dion and The Belmonts days.

Music taken from a selection of the top 1000 most played music from my iTunes library
Occasionally music taken from a list of the ones I have least listened to, just to make sure
There are still treasures to be found
But so much Dross!

Had a couple of Christmas gifts
XTC - The Black Sea Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids
Both fine 80’s albums but very very different styles.

Revolver and Abbey Road obviously by The Beatles. I’m only 50 years too late! Also I am going through a XTC phase and bought their English Settlement album. Very good it is too.
